Project Description

Helen’s Tower – Structural Repairs and External Fabric Renovation

Situated within the Clandeboye Estate, Helen’s Tower is a four-storey, square-plan Scottish-baronial style memorial tower dated 1848 and built to the designs by William Burn. On completion the tower was christened Helen’s Tower, as a tribute by the first Marquess of Dufferin and Ava to his mother.

C60 Architects have undertaken extensive renovation of the external fabric including introduction of steel support to the bartizan turrets and parapet walls. The works included replacement of portions of dressed stone, replacement of windows and repointing of the rubble walling.
