Garden Room, Ballyholme

The focus of this project was to connect the existing bungalow to its extensive mature garden, some 2m below ground floor level and create a contemporary open plan living space.

By removing an internal wall, the existing kitchen space was extended by the addition of a dining gallery which in turn links to the new garden room at the terrace level below. Access to the garden is by a bridge over a koi pond which acts a moat to the new extension. Windows are brought down to meet the new pond and provide views across the water into the gardens beyond.
