Digital DNA Nomination

We are delighted that ‘The World Around Us‘ Our collaboration with Mencap has been nominated for a Digital DNA award.

Together Mencap and C60 Architects form an innovative, dynamic collaboration, drawing on their combined expertise in learning disability, spatial design and the use of virtual reality as a communication tool.

The easily accessible online platform combines 3 dimensional modelled spaces with 360^o photography linked together to create a virtual environment that can be explored via any SMART device.

We truly believe this portal has positively changed the lives of many people with a learning disability, helping them take a more active role in their local community. The tool is free for all to use.

About the Author: Roger Perrott

After gaining an officer’s commission as a pilot in the RAF, Roger retrained as an Architect at Nottingham University. He is a Chartered RIBA architect, a certified Project Manager and is and RIBA accredited Conservation Architect. He set up C60 in 2012. Roger is a Construction Expert Witness, a member of the RIBA Professional Standards Committee and a member of the RIBA Conservation Register Steering Group.
