What do you NEED?

Ask yourself this question and give an honest answer. Is it an extra bedroom to accommodate a growing family? Is it a bigger kitchen? Is it a home office? This is to establish the minimum you need to make the house work.

What do you WANT?

This may be the grand design, the fantastic open plan living space, the grass roof, or the luxurious new master bedroom suit. This is what we hope to achieve if the right budget is there.

What is your BUDGET?

This can be the most important question to ask. It will allow C60 determine whether you can achieve all the projects` “NEEDS” and hopefully as much of the “WANTS” as possible.

Do you need Planning Permission?

For some property alterations such as loft conversions and single storey extensions, or certain types of sun rooms, you may not need planning permission. However it is good advice to check all local planning regulations and requirements first before making any definite plans to proceed – or just ask the expert Planning Team at C60.

What other approvals do you need?

Even if your extension does not need Planning Permission it will need Building Control Approval and meet the required Building Regulations. Building Control ensures the project is designed to their standards and inspections take place along the way to ensure the build quality on site meets the grade.

Next step – finding your builder

Unless you’re an experienced builder yourself, the likelihood is that you will need to get a professional building firm in to do the work – even if it’s a smaller job like a loft conversion.

Obviously a good recommendation helps, but it is wise to talk to previous clients of the builder. C60 can help with recommendations and our previous clients are happy for you to see their finished projects.
