“Whilst commonly referred to as barn conversions, many agricultural or rural building (including stables, schoolhouses or collections of smaller out buildings) may potentially be acceptable. The existing building must be capable of conversion / extension without detrimental impact on an existing dwelling or agricultural land. The application does not have to be linked to any farm activity.“

“Our vision is to create striking, practical spaces in which to live, relax and entertain. Maximising the potential for luxury, light, space and energy-savings.”
Gaining Planning Permission
In all cases planning permission will only be granted for a building in the countryside where it can be visually integrated into the surrounding landscape and it is of an appropriate design.
Buildings of a temporary construction such as those designed and used for agricultural purposes, including sheds or stores will not however be eligible for conversion or re-use under this policy.
The Planning process
Every development is unique, so careful review of policy before you make a planning application can be the difference between success and failure. It is therefore essential that your designers understand the legislation and how to present applications to maximise the potential of being granted approval.
